Quick overview of the Essential NZ Jazz Band Competition
When you register your school jazz band for the competition, you will receive a Dropbox that contains the 11 big band arrangements based on Sir Dave Dobbyn's material.
You then select four arrangements which will be sent to you as part of your entry. From these arrangements, each school submits via video one performance of one arrangement by 17 June.
The 10 finalists will be advised by the second week of July. This gives each band 10 weeks to organise getting to Wellington for the finals on 30 September - 1 October 2022.
