NZ Jazz Improvisation Competition
The Young Jazz Band-it - NZ Improvisation Competition, supported by Youthtown, has been developed to foster the art of jazz improvisation. This competition is run in conjunction with The New Zealand School of Music and awards a prize for the best jazz improvised solo by a New Zealand secondary or intermediate school student.
Three prizes of musical equipment from Musicworks NZ are on offer: $750 for the best instrumentalist, $750 for the best vocalist and $750 for the best drummer.
For 2024 you'll be able enter the Young Jazz Band-It - NZ Jazz Improvisation Competition online.
The cost to enter the Young Jazz Band-It - NZ Jazz Improvisation Competition is $30.00.
The Young Jazz Band-it Finals will be staged in Wellington on Saturday 28 September 2024.
