Quick overview of the Essential NZ Jazz Band Competition

When you register your school jazz band into the competition you will receive a Dropbox that contains the 11 big band arrangements based on Sir Dave Dobbyn material.

From this you select four arrangements which will be sent you as part of your entry. From these arrangements each school submits via video one performance of one arrangement by the 17 June. 

By entering now it's going to give you 8-9 weeks to learn the one chart required to enter.

From the entries, 10 finalists will be advised by the second week of July. This gives each band 10 weeks to organise getting to Wellington for the finals on September 30 / October 01, 2022.
