FINALS FOR THE YOUNG JAZZ BAND-IT COMPETITION
12 July 2022 is the date we will release the finalists for each section of the Young Jazz Band-it Competition who will be required to travel to Wellington to compete in the various finals components.

10 x Big Band, 5 x Instrumentalist in the Jazz Improvisation section, 3 x Drummers, 3 x Vocalists and 5 x in the New Zealand Jazz Composition section.

SATURDAY – 1 OCTOBER 2022
The Finals will take place at the New Zealand School of Music, Victoria University of Wellington.

Venues will consist of:

• Memorial Theatre - Big Bands
• Studio 310 - Jazz Improvisation section, Drummers, Vocalists and the New Zealand Jazz Composition section.

Timeframe:

• 10.00 am - 4.00 pm Competition 
• 5.00 pm - 5.45 pm -  Performance by the Rodger Fox Big Band 
• 6.00 pm - Prize-giving 
  
  

FRIDAY – 30 SEPTEMBER 2022
As some finalists will need to make their way to Wellington on Friday, 30 September as we will be presenting a concert at Victoria University of Wellington featuring The New Zealand School of Music Big Band One and various combo.

This will be open to any Wellington schools as well.
